By: Scott Mitten Mr. Gary Keener, President of Keener Corporation, stated, “We are extremely pleased to have received our latest major contract from the United States Navy, continuing Keener Corporations status as a Midwest leader of complex fabricated equipment.” Keener Corporation was awarded the contract 20 November for an undisclosed dollar figure. The nature and specifics of the storage containers are not available for general release. Keener Corporation’ Production of the storage and disposal containers began immediately upon notification of the awarded contract. The containers are specially designed to provide complete isolation and protection for extremely sensitive and delicate energy related materials. The grade and density of the material makes it extremely difficult to work with even with the latest laser, plasma, and robotic technologies. Keener stated, “The sheer thickness of the material places this job outside the capabilities of most fabrication companies. Our effective and reliable production equipment and practices provides the United States Navy with products that meets the exact specifications required for the operational needs of the fleet.
