PRLog -- Richard E. Milne is a music teacher for the Catasauqua Area School District of Pennsylvania. He has been in this capacity for more than three decades and is responsible for teaching elementary school children about music and instructing them on how to play a musical instrument. Richard works primarily with children who have never played music, but through his dedication and tireless commitment to the musical arts, helps them to become proficient in the art and prepared to perform in the school band. Richard started playing music when he was just eight years old and by the time he was in ninth grade, knew that he wanted to teach. Initially, Richard worked at the high school level, as director of the music program. He did this for twenty years and during this period, was honored as Teacher of the Year by The Pennsylvania State Music Teaching Association. Richard also played professionally for twenty-three years in a Big Band dance band. Presently, he shares his proficiency with such esteemed organizations as The Hanover Society for the Preservation of Big Band Jazz and as an alumnus of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, from which he earned a bachelor’s degree in education. Richard maintains an active philanthropic profile within the community and supports several programs that benefit music. At home in Allentown, he enjoys spending time at his lakeside home, boating and playing golf.
