PRLog -- Dr. Mike van Keulen is a senior lecturer in plant sciences for Murdoch University, a dynamic, modern university with a national reputation for excellence in teaching, research and student satisfaction. Dr. van Keulen has been with Murdoch since 2006 and in addition to lecturing, acts as the program chair for the marine science department, and directs the Coral Bay research station. He also instructs the courses, Plant Diversity for Marine Science, Marine and Estuarine Biology, Tropical Marine Biology and Introduction to Marine Biology. Dr. Keulen’s research interests focus on Coral Reef studies, sea grass ecology and rehabilitation, biological hydrodynamics and the effects of water motion on the physiology of marine plants. He has published dozens of articles, papers and theses and has presented at over one hundred conferences. Dr. Keulen holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors and a Ph.D from Murdoch University and is an esteemed member of the Australian Marine Sciences Association. Dr. Keulen is also affiliated with the Estuarine Research Federation, Royal Society of WA, Coastal Education & Research Foundation, International Society for Mangrove Ecosystems, the World Seagrass Association, Australian Coral Reef Society, and the International Society for Reef Studies. At home in Murdoch, Washington, he maintains an active philanthropic profile, enjoys reading and spending time with family.
