PRLog -- Dr. Susan T. Townsend is the founder of the Institute for Family Education, an organization that provides programs that address problems for parents and teachers who care for children of all ages. Their topics focus on a variety of issues such as common challenges associated with newborns, helping young parents recognize signs of depression, handling power struggles and defiant behavior, increasing cooperation and respect, developing social skills, helping with separation anxiety and handling stress. Dr. Townsend founded IFE in 2001 and is depended on to oversee all of its operations. She is responsible for the development and implementation of programs, management of staff and interacting with parents. She has a decade of experience as a licensed psychologist with a focus on education, psychology and behavioral medicine. Dr. Townsend specializes in the impact that couples dynamics have on health outcomes and her research examines the relationship between coronary artery disease and anger/ hostility. Dr. Townsend is a licensed psychologist with a doctorate degree from the University of Maryland, Department of Human Studies. She also holds a master’s degree from Loyola College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mary Baldwin College. She aspires to continued service within IFE and hopes to write a book of her career experiences. At home in Lutherville, Maryland, Dr. Townsend enjoys being with family, outdoor activities, reading and community activism.
