TEAM International attends an international HR Conference to improve its staffing practices.

TEAM International shares the major outcomes of an international conference "HR Management in IT".
 
Sept. 29, 2008 - PRLog -- In today’s highly competitive IT world Human Resource Management is one of the most critical tasks. For organizations to establish positive customer relationships, to improve customer satisfaction and the quality of project deliverables, smart HR management and monitoring techniques should be developed in order to find, hire and attract IT talent. Permanent struggle over a scarce Human Resource pool makes IT outsourcing companies become more inventive and draw new information from different sources.

In search for best HR practices, TEAM International participated in the international conference called “HR Management in IT” that took place in Kiev on September 19-20, 2008. We delegated our two leading Human Resource managers to attend the conference.
The generic goal of the conference was to enhance and increase the managerial competences of the IT organizations in regards to HR management, monitoring and control.
The Conference addressed HR practices in the following IT areas: software development, hardware, telecommunications, finance, IT project management, IT outsourcing, internet providing and IT integration.
The conference was opened by Igor Medzebrovsky, VP of the Association “IT Ukraine”, who performed a general overview of the current IT market in Ukraine and its integration in the global IT structure. In their report “IT Ukraine” made some positive predictions to the future of the IT outsourcing market. According to Igor Medzebrovsky, in the next five years Ukraine’s IT industry will develop even more dynamically and intensively due to the fact that Ukraine has already started to gain recognition among the European and North American organizations as a credible IT outsourcing destination.
The most critical issue addressed at the conference was HR supply and retention in IT companies. The reports, highlighting this issue, related to the peculiarities of IT staffing, internal PR in IT, IT company’s image etc. As noted by TEAM’s delegates, although the time dedicated to this issue was not enough to fully resolve it, some innovative techniques of how to effectively seek and hire IT talent were obtained.
According to our delegates, the most impressive report was presented by Elena Galich, a professional spokeswoman, who did a brilliant speech on role assessment and career development of IT personnel during the IT project performance. Another interesting topic discussed at the conference was IT staff motivation.
Overall TEAM’s HR managers admitted having a great opportunity to communicate with their Ukrainian, Russian and Belorussian colleagues, to share experience and to acquire more innovative ideas and techniques on IT staff hiring, motivation and retention.

TEAM International expects its HR department to consider the most interesting conference outcomes for thorough planning and implementation at the organizational level in order to improve our HR practices.
