About Vlora Restaurant
In the fall of 2007, the doors opened to Vlora, a Mediterranean hideaway in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay named after the Albanian hometown of Chef and Owner Aldo Velaj.  Vlora’s menu was designed with health in mind and focuses on a healthy lifestyle while featuring old family recipes and unique versions of traditional favorites from the Northern Mediterranean region encompassing Southern Italy, Greece and Albania.  Believing that food should taste like food, the natural tastes and flavors of the freshest ingredients are enhanced primarily with only olive oil and fresh herbs.

Vlora’s wide-ranging menu features diverse options for diners to include vegetarian and vegan creations.  Vlora’s signature dishes include watermelon-feta, lemon potatoes, arancini sicillani, rack of lamb, grilled whole striped bass, barbounia and fork-tender grilled octopus.  Additionally guests are known to feast upon homemade potato gnocchi, a trio of phylo pies or vegetarian Pasticcio.  Chef Aldo has also put a personal touch on the wine list – each bottle hand-picked to accompany the various flavors and tastes of the many dishes.
