Sept. 17, 2008 - PRLog -- (Bainbridge, Pennsylvania) --- Yolanda Renée Author and host of Renée’s Book Talk on Blog Talk Radio Thursday nights at 9:00 PM EDT, just recently had her first novel, Murder, Madness & Love published. She claims success is not always measured by the dollar, but by the accomplishment. Through hard work and faith Renée, pursued her dream and accomplished a long held goal.

In this suspense a killer plays cat and mouse with a young widow against the snowy backdrop of an Alaskan winter. Branded a black widow after the suspicious death of her millionaire husband, Sarah Phalmer flees Seattle for Anchorage. However, the peace and quiet she hoped to enjoy in her hometown is soon shattered. A killer is murdering Sarah look-alikes on the 14th of each month, taunting Sarah with a valentine of evidence. After her experiences in Seattle, Sarah is slow to go to the police. When she finally does, she finds Detective Steven Quaid, who is called on to protect the beautiful widow from a stalker intent on her destruction. Steven is not entirely sure she is not behind the scheme herself, and before long Sarah has him wound up tighter than barbed wire. Is Sarah a victim or a very skilled manipulator?

Written purely for entertainment, this novel will keep the reader guessing and the main characters, Detective Steven Quaid and Sarah Davis Phalmer will keep you wishing for more.

•   The setting is Anchorage, Alaska and Seattle, Washington.
•   Is Valentine’s Day a day for love or murder?
•   Will the villain win despite Detective Quaid’s best efforts?

Matt Arnold author of “Crossroads and An Open Universe” wrote: I'm a big fan of J.A. Jance and Earl Emerson mystery series, and found this novel to be a great read. One style the author employs, which adds to the story's suspense, is that most of the characters are introduced neither as "good guys" or "bad buys" but as in real life, they have elements of both. As the plot unfolds, this yields such a wide range of possibilities of "who done it" that I became increasingly engaged in the story and found the ending to be very strong. While the book is essentially a mystery, there is an element of romance mixed into the last third that will add to the enjoyment of readers who are drawn to that, but doesn't detract at all for those who aren't. The story is well set in Alaska and Washington State, both rich locales for any story. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries and suspense.
