Worthington, Jr., is of counsel in the Knoxville office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, one of the largest law firms in the country with more than 540 attorneys and offices located in five states in the US and Beijing, China. Robert began his career in law fifty-one years ago, after a distinguished career in the US military, as a managing partner. Today, he concentrates his practice on general corporate, public utilities and governmental relations. His experience includes securities, administrative law, business combinations and partnerships as well as mergers and acquisitions. In 1982, he acted as general counsel for the World's Fair at Knoxville and earned a listing in The Best Lawyers in America® as well as a Tennessee Gas Association’
s Silver Flame Award. Robert is a member of the American, Tennessee, Knoxville and District of Columbia bar associations, a member of Phi Delta Phi and a member of the Dean's Circle of the University Of Tennessee, College Of Law. Robert is equally active philanthropically and is on the board of directors of The Knoxville Zoological Society, an advisory board member of the Community School of the Arts and on the board of directors for the East Tennessee Historical Society. Robert earned a JD in law from the University of Tennessee. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, attending football games and travel.
