Sept. 3, 2008 - PRLog -- Ntractive, LLC, creator of Elements SBM, the hybrid web application for small business management has completed its new data center in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The data center utilizes High Availability (HA) and redundancy in its servers to ensure up-time and redundant fiber connections to ensure bandwidth availability to create an optimal environment to host the Elements SBM Hybrid Web application. "Our customers rely on Elements to run their businesses, and they need Elements running 24x7, 365 days a year," says Ntractive Co-Founder and CTO Justin Bartak. "They can not afford any downtime. The high availability through redundant systems is crucial to Elements and any cloud computing service running on the Internet."

Ntractive has also implemented redundant air handling for cooling, redundant power sources and fire suppression through Sapphire to protect its data center and the integrity and availability of its customers' data. Jason Keller, Network Architect at Ntractive points out, "managing our data center's environment helps ensure high availability as well. Servers produce a lot of heat, making air cooling extremely important. Plus, the redundant power supply keeps everything online and running smoothly should the building ever lose power. Our customers wouldn't even know anything happened - and that's our goal."

Marc Haug, Sales Representative from SimplexGrinnell, describes Sapphire, the fire suppression system Ntractive has installed as, "a breakthrough fire protection fluid which is stored as a liquid but released as a vapor to extinguish fire by absorbing heat." Haug goes on, "most important for a company like Ntractive is that any fire suppression material discharged must be a non-corrosive, non-conductive, non-residual, non-stick material, leaving almost no clean up or downtime for their data center in the event of a fire."

Ntractive chose to build its data center at the Ina Mae Rude Entrepreneur Center, a tech business incubator located in Grand Forks on the University of North Dakota campus. Bruce Gjovig, CEO and Entrepreneur Coach, has fostered over 400 businesses through the Ina Mae Rude Entrepreneur Center since 1984. The business incubator is currently home to 20 other ventures. Says Gjovig, "The Center for Innovation is pleased to support Ntractive's growth in the tech incubator. Vital IT infrastructure like dedicated server rooms and data centers are essential to tech ventures like Ntractive, and the Ina Mae Rude Entreprener Center is one of the few facilities where that is available in North Dakota."
