July 31, 2008 - PRLog -- Train travel in Europe is good for the environment and it is an economical way to see Europe. Europe’s trains are almost run by using electricity that means, there is less Co2 output than in cars and trucks. Over a million people each day ride the train in Europe which runs all day and night throughout all major Europe´s cities.

Ease of Travel

Each day the news has more stories about rising oil prices. Protest by truck drivers throughout Europe has lead to anger and frustration. Yet, the trains keep running. There are no protests from railroad personal or their passengers. Train tickets such as those from Eurail come in a variety of categories (http://www.eurail.com/1_our_products) and can be purchased months ahead of the actual train trip.  Once on the train the passenger is able to relax in the comfortable seats of a European train which also offer plenty of leg room.

In fact, many trains cross country trains have bars, restaurants and observation chairs. Night trains have different sleeping arrangements from a chair that reclines to private cabins with sinks. Night trains also have showers and sinks for a quick wash.

Environment Friendly

However, Europe´s train travel is also good for the environment. Train travel means the snow on top of the Alps will be there for generations to come, the blue Mediterranean Sea will still be clear safe to swim in and fresh sea food will be available.

In particular, electric trains are quieter, thus wildlife is not disturbed by the quick passing train. With less Co2 output, Europe´s trains do not have a major impact on the varied flora of Europe so the Netherlands tulips and Turkey´s roses can grow in the clear open fresh air.

The Future of Train Travel

With Eurail passes it is easy to see why traveling by train is growing and is seen by many as it is not only a more environmentally sound way to travel but one of class and comfort. More information on Eurail and its many different passes can be found on the Eurail website  www.eurail.com
