June 3, 2008 - PRLog -- “The new spring fashions continue a trend of comfort and style that began last fall,” said Lisa Gavin, owner of Alapage Boutique in Bedford.  “New Hampshire women are going to love the variety of options.  After a bleak, cold winter, these styles are like a warm blast of fresh air.”

According to Gavin, denim is once again leading the way, particularly medium and dark clean washes in lighter weights.  In addition to traditional pant styles, denim is also being featured in capris and long fitted shorts.  And continuing a trend that will please many woman, this spring’s soft and flowy denim styles will feature slightly higher rises—and no more exposed bellies.  See a full line of styles at http://www.alapageboutique.com/jeanbar.html

When it comes to colors, women can choose between “soft” and “hot” approaches.  For those interested in a softer look, “Boho-Chic” will be in this spring, with earth tones likes taupes, soft yellows, greens, and browns found in fluid tops.  Dresses and tops featuring geometric shapes in blacks and whites, as well as white eyelet fabrics are also popular.  These tops are best paired with lightweight jeans, or as part of a layered look with sweaters or short pleated jackets.

“Retro is in this summer, and designers are turning the clock back to the sixties and seventies,” said Gavin.  “But don’t worry, we aren’t seeing the return of granny dresses and other ‘hippy’ looks.  While peasant style prints and some crocheted trims are making a comeback, designers are providing a contemporary twist to these throw-back approaches, such as those featured on our website http://www.alapageboutique.com/”

For women who prefer bolder approaches, tops in bright blues, oranges, yellows, and even hot pink are popular.  Shaped longer tops or short sweaters can be found in these colors, and are the perfect match for denim pants.  For an even more exciting look for either day or evening wear, these tops can be found highlighted with subtle metallic fibers.

One of the more interesting trends in footwear is the introduction of sophisticated patent leather or metallic sheen sandals.  These sandals can be found in either bright patterns or flat clean styles, and they provide both style and comfort.  They also go perfectly with all of this spring’s new fashions.

And when it comes to accessories, silver and gold are the ways to go.  Silver is always a popular choice in the spring and summer, but this year gold is also making a strong comeback.  Long layered brushed gold necklaces and gold loop earrings are this spring’s top choice for jewelry.  Or for women who prefer a little more color—or a little more fun—large bangles in hot colors are also popular.  An additional touch of color can be added with bright scarves.  Big, brightly colored handbags are also popular, and can be found in teals, bright oranges, and purples.

Finally, this summer we are seeing some carryover from last fall.  Most notably, leggings are becoming a staple, and women are still pairing them with long tops and short dresses to create comfortable and stylish ensembles.

“The new fashions are here, and in the nick of time,” said Gavin.  “Judging from the innovative designs and fun colors and styles, it’s going to be a great season.”
