May 16, 2008 - PRLog -- 18 April 2008: The Institute of Payroll Professionals (IPP) has announced today that the first Payroll- http://www.payrollprofession.org/ Quality Partnership (PQP) accreditation has been awarded to ADP the payroll service provider.

The award recognises that ADP applies best practice in payroll professional development. The accreditation demonstrates that they have reached the standards set out by the IPP in order to provide a compliant and efficient payroll service to the organisation and its clients.

The PQP accreditation was introduced in July 2007 to provide a standard for performance management in payroll, encouraging organisations to maintain professional competence whilst enhancing and developing payroll skills and knowledge.

To achieve the standard, ADP went through a rigorous assessment of its induction, appraisal and performance review processes, incorporating a written application and site visits. The IPP was particularly impressed with ADP’s induction process and the evaluation of learning and development through assessment against specific payroll competencies.

“ADP has shown an enormous amount of commitment to its payroll team and the overall service it provides to clients, making it a worthy receiver of the IPP’s first PQP accreditation,” commented Maurice Cheng, Chief Executive of IPP, and a member of the PQP assessment panel. “The IPP is working hard towards raising the profile and standing of payroll as a profession, and it is through organisations such as ADP achieving this accreditation that this will become possible.

Cheng continues: “PQP highlights to employers that there is more to payroll than just pushing a button, and the IPP skills diagnostic tool has been put together following two years research into the industry and expectations, and potential, of the payroll function.”

Hazel Privett, HR Director, ADP commented: “ADP is extremely proud to be the first UK organisation to gain accreditation within the PQP framework.  It demonstrates continuing evidence of our commitment to the professional development of our staff as well as to the delivery of a professional and quality driven service to our clients.”
