Job Board Offers Full Discount to Current Military Servicemembers Using the Web Site’s Services

Applicant Tree Takes No Commission on Transactions with Current Servicemembers.

April 17, 2008 - PRLog -- Tampa, FL – Applicant Tree, an Internet job board that pays job seekers half of the recruitment fee collected, will award current members of the military the entire fee to thank them for their service.

Applicant Tree’s (http://www.ApplicantTree.com) business model entices regular job searchers to post their résumé on the site by paying them a portion of the recruitment fee for each unique company who downloads their information. For current members of the military, however, the Web site will give them the entire fee rather than just half. Applicant Tree earns no commission from the transactions that involve Servicemembers’ résumés.

Applicant Tree president and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, Jen Cooper first got the idea for the Web site while she was in Baghdad.

“When I was stationed in Iraq, I was amazed by the number of Soldiers spending their Internet time preparing for their return home by searching the job boards. To me, the chink in the system was that these people are bought and sold by recruiters and receive no compensation for the hours they spend searching the boards.”

Cooper says she wanted to correct that.

Her idea was to benefit all job seekers, not just enlisted men and women, but she thought that since it was the Soldiers who gave her the initial spark, that she should pay them back in some way.

After selling her idea to investors, she championed the cause of offering her fellow Servicemembers the opportunity to double their earnings compared to regular job seekers, an idea her investors agreed to instantly.

“It’s something I felt very strongly about doing,” she said.
