Israeli Diamond Portal Reports: Qavvik-5 and Qavvik-6 Yield Favorable Diamond Counts

March 12, 2008 - PRLog -- Diamond North Resources has announced favorable diamond counts from the Qavvik-5 and Qavvik-6 kimberlites located in its Amaruk property in Nunavut. In Qavvik-5, a total of 130 diamonds were recovered from 103.4 kilograms of kimberlite, and at Qavvik-6, 118 diamonds were recovered from 107.7 kilograms of kimberlite.

As a result, the company plans to collect larger samples with a core drill. Drilling will also be conducted at the Qavvik-4 kimberlite. The preliminary review indicates a high proportion of white, octahedral diamonds.

Twenty-two kimberlites have been discovered to date on the Amaruk property. Results for 14 of these kimberlites indicate that more than 85% are diamondiferous and 50% exhibit encouraging results that will require additional exploration.
