First Congregational Church of Anaheim to commemorate its 50th Year Anniversary

Feb. 26, 2008 - PRLog -- You, your family, your friends and our Anaheim neighbors are invited to help First Congregational Church of Anaheim commemorate its 50th Year Anniversary with a special worship service in the sanctuary at 10:30 AM on Sunday, March 9, 2008.  The church is located at 515 North State College Blvd., Anaheim just south of La Palma Avenue and there is no charge to attend the celebration.

This is exactly 50 years after the first worship service was held in the living room of the historic Griffith House on Sunday, March 9, 1958.  Following the March 9, 2008 worship service, a Reunion Reception Luncheon will be held for all members and friends, past and present in the McKenzie Hall.

Dr. Lowell Linden, a former pastor, will give the Anniversary message.  Current pastor, Dr. James Schibsted has been serving our church for 27 years and will lead the services.  Dr. Peter St. Don of Huntington Harbor Community Church will also be taking part in the worship service.  Special music is being prepared by gospel singer and church member, Marsha Robinson. She will be joined by her brother, Ronald Holliday Hills, who is professional musician.

Founding members of our church will be honored along with Eleanor Vernon, wife of our founding pastor, Dr. Walter Vernon.  Please contact the church office at 714-776-0960 if you plan to attend and leave a message with your family name and number of people attending
