barebonephoto wins prestigious People’s Choice Award at Canadian Wedding Industry Awards 2007

Recognition by both peers and public alike as unique personal approach wins Best of the Best

Jan. 23, 2008 - PRLog -- Cambridge, ON – The votes have been cast and counted, and it’s official – barebonephoto has been officially recognized as being amongst the very best that Canada has to offer when it comes to photo studios. Owned by Emma Smallbone, originally from Toronto but now residing in Cambridge, Ontario, this small studio has quietly become synonymous for professional photography with an acutely personal touch. Now the rest of Canada can see this as well.

“It’s an amazing honour,” says Emma about the award. “I never thought I’d be recognized nationwide for the work I’ve done over the last 7 years, and it still hasn’t sunk in, to be honest. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for me!” It’s this modesty, as well as the intimate and personal images that Emma provides to all her clients, that saw the prestigious People’s Choice Award go to barebonephoto.

Celebrating excellence across 12 different categories, the Canadian Wedding Industry Awards are sponsored by Weddingbells and WedLuxe magazines. The difference with these awards is that votes are polled from both industry experts and the public alike, ensuring that the recipients are truly worthwhile. While there are categories including dress designers and caterers, there is only one that is voted on solely by, arguably, the people that really matter – the public.

More so than any other, and sponsored by Weddingbells Magazine, the People’s Choice Award is testament to the winner’s popularity and standing amongst the voters. With such a wide range of companies and services eligible for the award, it takes something special to come out on top. For 2007, that something special is barebonephoto.

What makes this achievement even more impressive is that it goes to such a relatively young company. Yet the experience and intimate touch that Emma Smallbone instils in her company is what helps barebonephoto stand out from both its peers and contemporaries. “I think it’s because my approach is simple,” explains Emma on why so many people chose her for the award. “I want to create a one-to-one relationship with my clients; picture the people as much as the event. Your wedding day should be relaxing and enjoyable; capturing moments, not creating them.”

It’s these very moments Emma captures that has brought her company the recognition her clients obviously feels she deserves. With the presentation of the award on February 26th 2008 in Toronto, and a busy schedule of conferences and shows, it would appear that barebonephoto is about to step out of the shadows as one of Canada’s best-kept secrets. It’s no less than what the public expects.
