New RCS2-RA13R Ultra-High 2 Ton Thrust Robo Cylinder

Sept. 25, 2007 - PRLog -- IAI America has launched the RCS2-RA13R Ultra-High Thrust Robo Cylinder that provides a maximum of 2 tons (19,600 N) pressing force, greatly improving the thrust compared to previous electric actuators.

This Robo Cylinder is ideal for work such as press fitting that require powerful pressing force. Speed adjustment during movement, height management during press fitting, and other such adjustments that are difficult with mechanical presses and hydraulic presses can be made easily by just changing the variables.

A ball spline in used as the rotation stopper for the rod making it capable of handling light rotational loads without the need for a guide mechanism.

The rated high thrust of 10,211 N makes it possible to move loads of 500 kg horizontally of 300 kg vertically. When the optional holding brake is installed, it can be set so that the rod does not descend when the unit is used vertically and the power is switched off.

The controller supports positional operations, where the unit is moved by specifying the desired positions, and supports pulse string control, where the position, speed, and acceleration/deceleration can be freely changed. Direct connection to DeviceNet, CC-Link, and ProfiBus is also supported.
