Gaithersburg, MD, - NSCA Technology and Tra-Cal Lab today announced the expansion of their Refurbished Test Instrument line by entering into an arrangement with the first of several major Test Equipment OEM’s.
The firm has been sourcing, refurbishing, and selling test equipment for many years, however as President Todd Chaikin described “This brings a new dimension. We provide a better quality of refurbished product to our end customer by being selective at the source of that equipment. Typically, we source from our key customers, who wish to liquidate their surplus equipment, and now we have a formalized process with a major OEM to serve as a ‘Remarketing Partner’, one of only about twenty worldwide.”
Corporate VP Bill Howden commented “This provides a three-way win… The OEM gets to perform ‘technology refresh’ with their customer, secure that they can remarket the used equipment. NSCA gets a quality source of equipment, with engineering support in overhauling, updating, and refurbishing the equipment at our lab (Tra-Cal) or at the OEM. The customer gets a ’like new’ product with a warranty at an excellent price. The quality of this offering is a huge step above what customers can buy on the secondary market.”
The first sourcing of equipment under this arrangement was performed in December, is refurbished, and is now available at NSCA, for sale, rental, or lease. Chaikin and Howden both described that there will be several more such arrangements forthcoming in the near future. NSCA currently refurbishes equipment from several manufacturers such as Agilent, Anritsu, Fluke, Rohde & Schwarz, Tektronix, and others.
