PUNE, India - Oct. 24, 2025 - PRLog -- The Government of Maharashtra, through its autonomous institution Amrut (Research, Development, and Training Academy), has launched Amrut Durgotsav 2025 — a grand people's festival celebrating Maharashtra's 12 UNESCO-recognized forts associated with the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

A Celebration of Fort Pride and Public Unity

Amrut Durgotsav 2025 is envisioned as a people's movement that encourages every citizen to honor Maharashtra's historical pride. Participants are invited to create replicas of any one of the twelve UNESCO-listed forts and upload selfies with their creations on the official website — www.durgotsav.com.

Each participant receives a personalized certificate of appreciation digitally signed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, commemorating their contribution to this unique record-setting celebration.

These historic citadels—now recognized by UNESCO's World Heritage List—represent the valor, strategy, and sovereignty of the Maratha Empire under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

How to Participate
  1. Choose any one of the 12 forts.
  2. Build its replica using clay, sand, or eco-friendly materials.
  3. Capture a selfie with your fort model.
  4. Upload it to www.durgotsav.com.
  5. Receive your CM-signed digital appreciation certificate via email.

All selfies will form part of an official compilation submitted to the World Records Authority, showcasing Maharashtra's collective spirit and cultural pride on the global stage.

Participants gain complimentary access to Amrut Vidya, the academy's digital learning platform, featuring rich educational modules on:

Launching the event at Shivsrishti Historical Theme Park, Vijay Joshi, Managing Director of Amrut, remarked:
