Rustic Roots and New Shoots Emerge at Fairy Stone State Park

ROCKY MOUNT, Va. - Oct. 21, 2025 - PRLog -- Over 44 million visitors traveled to a Virginia state park in 2024 (Virginia Tourism Corporation). This uptick in attendance not only surpassed the previous year, but exceeded pre-pandemic numbers. Seeing the revived interest in state parks among the locals, Fairy Stone State Park continues to welcome opportunities for the community to connect with the park. One way is by using the park's historic charm while showcasing both seasoned and new artists and crafters. For the fourth consecutive year, Fairy Stone State Park is opening their event center, Fayerdale Hall, to celebrate the holiday season with the Fourth Annual Holiday Market—with this year anticipated to be their largest Holiday Market yet.

Fayerdale Hall is commonly used throughout the year for weddings, meetings, and reunions. On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, it is a hub for holiday treasures—vintage and new. Local vendors fill the rustic hall with handmade and vintage items, generally crafted and created in Southwestern Virginia. Fairy Stone Market Host Amanda Cooper said, "The Holiday Market benefits the community by supporting small local businesses and connecting the local community with park visitors." Vendors line the outside of the building with a variety of artisan merchandise available for purchase both inside and outdoors. Complete with live music, baked goods, and lunch options, this a great place for community members to come with friends, family, and neighbors to connect and relax. Cozy seating is available outside so shoppers can enjoy the beauty of the season in a natural setting.

Volunteer Coordinator Jessica Seaver said, "I'm excited to join the Friends of Fairy Stone State Park in celebrating the Fourth Annual Holiday Market and welcome the community for a day of shopping and holiday spirit in the park."

Artisans located in Patrick and surrounding counties in Virginia are welcome to apply to become a vendor. Applications will be accepted through November 1.

All visitors to the Fourth Annual Christmas Market at Fairy Stone State Park on Saturday, November 29, 2025, will receive complimentary parking near Fayerdale Hall. Most vendors accept cash only.
