Each event is free and open to the public, with a non-obligatory $5 donation encouraged to support the nonprofit's mission. After the talk, guests are invited to join the author for a Dutch treat lunch at the venue, offering a relaxed setting for deeper conversation. "These talks are a great way to connect people locally with our story," said founder, Roy Austin. "We're providing a platform for local authors to share their personal writing journey, while raising awareness for a mission that helps children gain access to books in Africa." The Author Talk series has already made a meaningful impact. Thanks to the generosity of attendees and supporters this year, the program has helped fund the shipment of nearly 2,000 books to rural schools in Africa, where many children have no access to libraries or learning materials. Libraries for Kids, Int'l is a nonprofit that provides books to underserved schools across Africa. The Author Talk series is one of several grassroots efforts helping to grow support for global literacy. Events are held monthly in Bluffton, with each session featuring a different author. Details are shared on the organization's website and social media. RSVP's required. To learn more or support this program, visit www.libraries4kids.org or contact Libraries for Kids, Int'l. End
