NAPLES, Fla. - Sept. 29, 2025 - PRLog -- The Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance is excited to announce the kickoff of construction on Parker's Place Community Center, marking an important milestone in the development of a comprehensive community to provide safe, affordable housing for families in Immokalee.

The community center is the fourth building to be constructed as part of the development, which will eventually include 128 rental units across eight buildings. Once completed, the community center will be just a short walk from the residents' apartments and will provide early learning and afterschool activities for children, as well as educational and enrichment activities for adults. The center will also offer useful financial and budgetary guidance for its residents.

A special wall-raising event will be held on Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. to celebrate the progress made in the construction of Parker's Place Community Center at 2070 Corazon de la Comunidad Circle in Immokalee. During the event, donors, advocates and residents will have the opportunity to sign the walls of the building before they are enclosed, symbolizing their support for the project and the community.

Speakers for the event will include:
  • Dr. Arol Buntzman, Chairman & CEO, Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance
  • Captain Will Conley, Corps Officer, The Salvation Army of Collier County
  • Brittni Brown, Vice President of Philanthropy, United Way of Collier and the Keys

Parker's Place Community Center will serve as the heart of the development, providing critical resources and services for Immokalee residents in need. This event marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the community, and residents, partners and community members are invited to join in this celebration of progress.

No RSVP is required.

Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance

The Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) created in 2018 by a group of concerned citizens who saw the damage done by Hurricane Irma to already substandard trailers and shacks rented by farmworker families and other low-income families in Immokalee. The IFHA vision is for these families to have access to secure, affordable, hurricane-resistant rental housing, which will strengthen the community by fostering health, education, dignity and financial stability. The organization has embarked on a project to create community awareness and raise funds for a 128-rental unit complex in Immokalee. For more information, please visit ImmokaleeFairHousing.org.
