Revisions to the Authorized French List of Substances for Rubber Food Contact Material and Pacifiers

GENEVA - Aug. 26, 2025 - PRLog -- SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 120.25, reporting on a new Order regulating rubber food contact materials (FCM)/articles and pacifiers for young children in France.

A notice revising the list of substances in Annex VIII of the Order of August 5, 2020, was issued on August 7, 2025, reducing the number of applicable substances requiring a dossier submission from 60 to 10. These dossiers were to be submitted to the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control for evaluation before July 1, 2025, under Article 4-11.

After this date, suppliers must submit an evaluation for all substances used in applicable items on the amended Annex VIII list for approval, with the exception of those originating from other EU, Türkiye or European Economic Area countries that meet the conditions in Article 10.

The revisions took effect immediately.
