Hometown Heroes Housing Program Reopens

ORLANDO, Fla. - Aug. 20, 2025 - PRLog -- Robert Michael & Co. Real Estate Team is pleased to announce the reopening of Florida's Hometown Heroes Housing Program, an initiative designed to help frontline and essential workers achieve the dream of homeownership. Eligible first-time buyers can now receive up to $35,000 in assistance toward down payments and closing costs.

During the most recent legislative session, Florida Realtors® successfully secured an additional $50 million in funding for the program, ensuring more Floridians can access critical support as they enter today's housing market.

Program Details:

• Provides up to 5% of the first mortgage loan amount (minimum $10,000 / maximum $35,000).
• Funds may be used for down payments and closing costs.
• Applications reopened Monday and are available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.

Who Qualifies:

• Frontline and essential workers employed full-time by a Florida-based employer, including health care professionals, school staff, first responders, childcare providers, public safety, and court employees.
• Service members of the U.S. military, reserves, Coast Guard, or Florida National Guard.
• Veterans employed full-time by a Florida-based employer.
