| ![]() Miss Trans Star International Returns in 2025 with Renewed Vision and Historic NameNow just five months away, the 2025 edition of Miss Trans Star International will take place from November 28 to December 5 in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico—bringing together trans women from across the globe for a week of celebration, competition, and community. "This is more than a pageant—it's a movement," said Jack Neilsen, the newly appointed Executive Director. "As a cisgender gay man, I know our movement owes so much to trans women—especially trans women of color—who have led with strength and vision despite being the most at risk. Miss Trans Star International exists to honor that truth and elevate their power." A major announcement included the return to the pageant's original and meaningful name: Miss Trans Star International. "This isn't just a name change—it's a return to purpose," Neilsen added. "Trans women are stars because they have always lit the way forward." The event honored founder Thara Wells for creating this powerful global platform, and Arianna Lint, a respected activist, for her continued leadership and for welcoming Neilsen into his new role. With preparations underway, the organization will launch global outreach and media campaigns focused on visibility, inclusion, and celebrating the central role of trans women—particularly women of color— within the LGBTQIA+ movement.
