Getting Back captures the emotional reality of loss through the eyes of children and adults alike while celebrating the healing power of imagination. "There is so much innocence in a child at that age," says the writer/director, "and yet, as a parent, you see the child they were and the adult they're becoming."

The project will be filmed entirely in Oregon with a local cast and crew. The production includes acclaimed professionals like Jon Meyer (Director of Photography), whose work has won numerous festival awards, and Malachite Saaquya (Assistant Director), co-founder of Path Films and a major contributor to Oregon's indie film scene.

The cast also features talented Oregon-based actors including Logan Cannon, Kat Gerlach, and rising child stars River Garber and Parker Small. The film is not just a story — it's a showcase of Oregon's creativity, talent, and community.

Campaign perks include:

- Signed digital script copies

- Opportunity to appear as an extra in a scene

- Access to a virtual table read and Q&A session

- Behind-the-scenes content and production updates

Funds raised will cover equipment, crew wages, actor compensation, editing, colour grading, and festival distribution. "We've built an amazing team — now we need the final piece: our community's support to bring it all together," the filmmaker shares.
