DONG GUAN, China - April 10, 2025 - PRLog -- Dongguan China — I.C.T, a global leader in smart manufacturing equipment and integrated SMT/DIP solutions, has successfully completed and delivered a full SMT and DIP production line following a comprehensive Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for a major international consumer electronics client. This milestone marks yet another testament to I.C.T's commitment to global standards, technical excellence, and customer-centric innovation in electronics manufacturing.

A Holistic FAT Process that Goes Beyond the Standard

Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) is more than just a checklist; it is the foundation of customer confidence and operational readiness. I.C.T implemented a five-stage FAT verification strategy to ensure that each equipment unit, software interface, production capability, and safety standard met or exceeded expectations.

The FAT stages included:
  1. Individual Equipment Validation – Each machine in the SMT and DIP line underwent dedicated testing for electrical safety, mechanical stability, ESD protection, grounding reliability, alarm system functionality, and signal interface verification.
  2. Internal Pilot Production for SMT Lines – Using the customer's actual PCB layout and BOM structure, I.C.T engineers conducted in-house trial production to simulate real-world manufacturing. Key metrics such as printing alignment, placement precision, reflow curve, and AOI yield rate were continuously monitored.
  3. Non-Stop Production Simulation – To replicate actual production demands, both SMT lines operated for over 4 hours without interruption. This helped verify the line's capability to maintain stability, throughput, and production quality under sustained load.
  4. Pilot Production for DIP Processes – Both the Top-side and Bottom-side DIP lines were tested using real soldering conditions, component insertion maps, and conformal coating samples.
  5. 4-Hour DIP Line Test – The DIP line also underwent a continuous 4-hour test cycle to measure wave solder integrity, fixture handling, and final inspection rates.
Teamwork & Transparency

Throughout the FAT process, the customer's engineering, production, and procurement representatives visited I.C.T's headquarters in Shenzhen to personally witness and verify the results. This close collaboration enabled real-time feedback, direct machine customization, and transparent communication that accelerated the project timeline.
