The Nifty 50 gained for the second consecutive week, rising by 0.72%. The index started the week with a gap-up opening above its 100-day moving average (100-DMA) but faced resistance around the 50-week moving average (50-WMA), leading to profit booking on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, on Thursday, the index posted a decent gain, supported by strong performances in the BFSI, Energy, and Realty sectors. On the monthly chart, the index recorded a gain of approximately 6.20% in March, forming a strong bullish candle after five consecutive months of correction. Additionally, the index managed to close above both the 100-DMA and the crucial 23,500 level. Top gainers in the Nifty 50 were led by Bajaj Finserv (+8.67%), Grasim Industries (+5.74%), Ultratech cement (+4.85%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (+4.43%), and Tata Consumer Products (+4.23%) Among the sectoral indices Nifty Financial Services (+2.06%), Bank (+1.92%), FMCG (+1.14%) and IT (+0.50%) gained the most. On the flip side Nifty Media (-4.68%), Pharma (-2.26%), Auto (-2.12%), Consumer Durable (-1.65%), Realty (-1.33%) and Metal (-1.21%) lost the most. What do you think?
