The Madison River Foundation (MRF) adds Science-based position to lead Program efforts

BOZEMAN, Mont. - Nov. 18, 2024 - PRLog -- Earlier this month, Wildlife Conservation Specialist Mia Cignoni commenced the newly created Conservation Programs Manager role at the Madison River Foundation.

Mia followed her life-long passion of the outdoors into the conservation arena starting in 2017. She studied Wildlife Biology and Conservation at Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado. Upon graduation, she relocated to Ennis, Montana, where she gained experience as a wildlife technician with local organizations such as BLM and the US Forest Service.

MRF Executive Director Keith Brauneis sums it up best in his statement: "I am thrilled to welcome Mia Cignoni to the Madison River Foundation team. With over six years of experience in wildlife biology and natural resource management, she brings exceptional expertise in data collection, collaboration with partner organizations, and conservation education. Mia's dedication to conservation aligns perfectly with our mission to support a healthy Madison River watershed. We are excited to see the impact she will make and look forward to working together to return more cold, clean water to the Madison River".

The MRF is a Montana-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the Madison River Watershed. Through paid memberships and donations, it provides resources, science-backed information, and education to the community in collaboration with conservation partners. The MRF staff and board of directors are dedicated to serving as advocates for the watershed and surrounding communities of the Madison Valley. They enthusiastically embrace the organization's tagline, "Healthy River, Thriving Community."
