Disaster Characteristics:

1. High combustion speed, large calorific value, and intense radiant heat.

2. Mixing with air to reach explosive concentrations, causing explosions when encountering ignition sources.

3. High risk of reignition.

4. Likelihood of casualties during explosions and fires.

Response Strategies:

1. Handle according to the principle of "controlling combustion, preventing explosions, and extinguishing fires at the right time".

2. In case of fire due to gas pipeline leakage, promptly notify the gas company to close the valves in the leakage area and use spray water guns to disperse the leaked gas, reducing the risk of explosion.

3. Utilize fixed fire-extinguishing facilities or mobile water guns (cannons), vehicle-mounted cannons to cool storage tanks and pipelines, and extinguish the open flames of surrounding combustibles, creating conditions for leak sealing.

4. After preparing for leak sealing, use dry powder to extinguish the fire in one go and quickly complete the leak sealing task.

Special Warnings:

1. Focus on detecting the ceiling, stairwells, and other areas for coal gas and natural gas, and focus on detecting the ground, corners, and low-lying areas for liquefied petroleum gas.

2. Set up warning areas to prevent casualties caused by gas explosions.

3. Pay attention to the direction of the outlet valve (or pressure-regulating valve) of the cylinder. If it is burning towards the ground, prevent the cylinder from exploding.

4. When attacking, face the middle of the cylinder and avoid the ends to prevent the end caps from flying out and injuring people during an explosion.

5. In the case of fires caused by leaks in gas pipelines or storage tanks, if the leak cannot be stopped, it is strictly prohibited to extinguish the fire to prevent secondary explosions.
