Take Stock in Children-St. Johns County to benefit from the 27th Annual Community Harvest program

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Sept. 14, 2024 - PRLog -- The Take Stock in Children-St. Johns County program, managed by Investing in Kids (INK!) has been selected by the 1905 Family Of Restaurants to benefit from the 27^th Annual Community Harvest. During the month of September, the restaurant company will donate five percent of diners' checks to the charities selected by guests while dining at the company's restaurants across Florida.

Patrons visiting the Columbia Restaurant in historic St. Augustine can support Take Stock in Children-St. Johns County by selecting Take Stock in Children as the non-profit of choice on the ballot provided at check-out. When Take Stock in Children is selected, the hospitality company will donate five percent of the diner's check to the non-profit.

"We are honored that INK!'s Take Stock in Children - St. Johns County program has again been chosen as one of the local non-profits to benefit from the Community Harvest program," said Cathy Newman, INK! Executive Director.

Newman said the process to support your charity of choice is simple. Dine at one of the 1905 Family Of Restaurants during the month of September. Choose a charity from a ballot provided with your check. The restaurant calculates five percent and provides the charity with gift certificates that can be used at any of the restaurants. There is no additional cost to the guest.

Over the last 26 years, the program has provided more than $4 million to non-profit organizations throughout Florida. Community Harvest involves each of the Columbia locations, including the local Columbia Restaurant (https://www.columbiarestaurant.com/) at 98 St. George Street in historic, downtown St. Augustine.

"As we look ahead to the Columbia's 120th anniversary in 2025, I'm reminded that great restaurants are more than just places to eat; they're part of the fabric of the community," said 4th generation caretaker and president Richard Gonzmart. Take Stock in Children is a statewide non-profit established in 1995 to offer low-income, at-risk students a unique opportunity to escape the cycle of poverty through education.
