Luncheon to Honor Apollo 13 AstronautTulsa Air and Space Museum Celebrates 54th Anniversary of Apollo 13
"This event is an important fund raiser to the museum and its pursuit of 'Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future'. Our STEM -focused programming and hands-on exhibits teach and inspire the future generation workforce," says Executive Director, Tonya Blansett. Special guest, Fred Haise, will share a presentation about his experience which inspired the movie "Apollo 13", starring Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton and Kevin Bacon. Fred attended the University of Oklahoma and served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard before entering the NASA Astronaut corp in the 1960's. The Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium provides the unique inspirational experience for kids K-12 to learn about aviation career pathways that strengthen the Oklahoma aviation industry workforce.
