In Wake of Elon Musk Backtracking on Lidar, Marshall Barnes Zeros In To Kill His Tech Guru Rep

After years of mocking lidar, Elon Musk has admitted to spending 2M on lidar tech for self driving car testing, opening a hole for R&D sci-tech engineer scientist, Marshall Barnes to renew his assault against the billionaire's tech genius myth.

AUSTIN, Texas - May 12, 2024 - PRLog -- According to sources, including Business Insider, Tesla CEO Elon Musk previously referred to lidar technology as a "fool's errand."  Advanced concept R&D engineer scientist, Marshall Barnes, says Musk's statement "only proves conclusively what a fool Elon is". Marshall Barnes is now the world's most strident and qualified critic of Musk, having challenged Musk to a debate on humanity's future which Musk settled for in absentia and has been subjected to numerous withering attacks across the entirety of his most recent controversies. Marshall has an airtight case against Musk as a fraud, liar and hyper-hypocrite, and heartless overseer of racist, sexist and hazardous workplaces. Meanwhile, Marshall was tested in 2014 by the PwC computer app, CEO Time Machine, and scored as someone from the year 2040, but in 2023 Musk was voted the most overrated CEO in America.

"I have nothing but loathing and distain for Elon Reeve Musk," Marshall says, using the billionaire's full name, "and this latest revelation only vindicates my position. Elon is a defective, but highly functional, idiot savant."

Tesla spent nearly $2 million on lidar tech, according to a quarterly earnings report from lidar company, Luminar after repeatedly slamming lidar as a "fool's errand. In 2021 Tesla signed a contract with Luminar which Elon (https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-ceo-elon-musk) said any carmakers relying on it are "doomed".

"Lidar" stands for light detection and ranging, and it uses light pulses to measure distance and gain a 3D image of its surroundings

Tesla's purchase of the technology is notable considering the CEO has repeatedly slammed lidar (https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-slams-self-driv...) in favor of cameras.

According to Business Insider, Musk stated in an October 2001 tweet that, "Humans drive with eyes & biological neural nets, so makes sense that cameras & silicon neural nets are only way to achieve generalized solution to self-driving," When Marshall recently heard this, it was the last straw.

"That proves what a stupid, freaking moron he is, and I'll never let him live it down. And this is why - because that statement was made by the same man that allowed at least 16 different cars with Tesla's so-called "autopilot" feature on the road, and they didn't even have the capability of recognizing EMERGENCY VEHICLE FLASHING LIGHTS!", Marshall exclaimed,

Tesla's Autopilot has also caught the attention of federal regulators in the past resulting in part in Tesla recalling over 2 million vehicles because it was determined its Autopilot system didn't protect drivers misusing it.
