2024 Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior Call for Abstracts

INDIANAPOLIS - Jan. 24, 2024 - PRLog -- Share the amazing work you are doing as a nutrition educator by submitting an abstract for the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior 2024 International Conference in Knoxville, TN from July 29 – August 1. Abstracts are 300-word descriptions of your work, the audience, the evaluation, results, and conclusions.

Abstracts can focus on the conference's theme, "Understanding Foodways | Learning • Growing • Sustaining," however, research related to any aspect of nutrition education is encouarged. SNEB welcomes a diverse range of issues surrounding nutrition education. Examples of topics to submit include highlighting a unique or innovative program/initiative or interesting research. Sharing your work at the 2024 Conference helps you make new connections, exchange ideas, and grow you as a nutrition educator.

SNEB Vice President and Conference Chair Sarah Colby, PhD, RD, explains, "Foodways refers to why we eat what we eat and what that means. Foodways are shaped by culture, religion, tradition, geographic location, climates, time periods, politics and socio-demographic power differentials."

All submissions must be no more than 300 words and follow submission guidelines outlined at sneb.org/abstracts. You do not have to be a member of SNEB to submit an abstract. The submission fee for SNEB members is $25 and the fee for nonmembers is $50. The deadline for submission is 11:59 PM EST on March 1, 2024. Submissions are accepted online at https://www.sneb.org/abstracts-2024/.

All abstracts will be peer-reviewed, and authors will receive feedback based on a standard evaluation form. The peer-review process provides mentorship and resources for those of whom English is not their native language. Accepted submissions will be given the opportunity to resubmit at no cost after receiving reviewer feedback.

All abstracts will be published in the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior (https://www.jneb.org/) and presented at the 2024 International Conference. Along with the published abstract, authors can submit a pdf of their research poster and a five-minute video outlining their work posted online on the Journal's website.

Dr. Colby adds, "I hope you will all come to learn more about foodways, grow new skills so we can better help others, and find ways to sustain our passion for what we do."
