Emergency Medical Doctors Lead List Of 2023 Your HHRS News "Jersey-Est" Awards

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Jan. 2, 2024 - PRLog -- The tenth annual Your HHRS News "Jersey-Est" Awards for 2023 features two doctors, but one specialty -- emergency medical care.

Your HHRS News, named after Home Health Radiology Services, is a daily health news blog featuring online stories and videos about health, medicine, fitness and nutrition in New Jersey edited by Adrienne L. Collier.

"Our Man Of The Year is Dr. Joshua Rempell of Cooper University Hospital in Camden, because he spends time abroad giving training to civilian and military personnel in emergency medical care, most recently in the Ukraine," Ms. Collier explains. "And the Woman Of The Year is Dr. Ije Akunyili, who managed emergency departments in several states before becoming the first African-American woman to be named a chief medical officer at Jersey City Medical Center!"

Covid vaccine advancements are praised; a counterfeit nursing school license ring is lambasted. And a very special honorable mention goes to Dr. Milton "Doc In A Car" Mintz. His story was told at Your HHRS News in 2013 due to his turning a need for geriatric patients to receive house calls into the Visiting Nurse Service of Northern New Jersey.

"Dr. Mintz is now a 94-year-old retiree," says Ms. Collier, "and he is now a patient of the nursing service!"
