One Circle Foundation Introduces Free Circle Session: "Thinking About Coming Out" for LGBTQ+ Youth and Allies
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - Nov. 21, 2023 - PRLog -- One Circle Foundation (OCF), a leading national nonprofit organization in youth development, is excited to announce the release of a new and free Circle session titled "Thinking About Coming Out." This session is designed specifically for providers, facilitators, and caring adults working with LGBTQ+ youth and allies.
"For some LGBTQ+ youth, reservations, fears, and questions may prevent them from exploring their identity. This session aims to support them in this journey by providing a safe and supportive Circle experience,"
The "Thinking About Coming Out" session offers activities and peer support to help participants determine whether coming out is something they may want to consider. The session celebrates and honors individual paths to self-discovery, identifying common challenges and strengths in their identities.
"As an organization, we recognize the importance of addressing the unique needs of LGBTQ+ youth. This session is a step towards creating an inclusive environment where they can explore their identities without fear or judgment," added Hossfeld.
Participants will learn coping skills during the session, collaboratively creating safety tips and accessing additional resources for support. The goal is to empower youth as they contemplate the idea of coming out, emphasizing that there is nothing wrong with them and that their experiences are valid.
"Thinking About Coming Out" is now available free of charge and is found on their homepage as part of their FREE resources for schools, communities, and institutions. OCF's curricula offerings and facilitator trainings contribute to the organization's mission of creating transformative spaces that promote a culture of understanding, acceptance, and support.
