OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Oct. 25, 2023 - PRLog -- Today marks the debut of "Health is for EveryBODY™," an innovative campaign that sets forth an ambitious vision for global health unity. Challenging the notion of zero-sum bias, which suggests, when applied to health, that your health improvement is another's loss, this new initiative drives the idea that collective health uplifts all.

While spearheaded by the National Minority Health Association (NMHA), the campaign stands for every individual, emphasizing that the health disparities of any group impact all of us.

"Minorities feel the ripple effect when non-minorities aren't in good health and the opposite is also true," said Burgess Harrison, NMHA's Executive Director. "For example, when a meat packing plant closed due to COVID-19 and meat prices spiked, we all cared about the health of others. This movement is for everyone."

In a nation where health topics can stir division, this campaign offers the unifying slogan "Health is for EveryBODY." Supported by media and social media strategies, it also provides corporations and organizations with easy-to-disseminate informational materials in both print and digital formats.

The campaign's milestones are bold: it seeks one million signatures on a Change.org petition, and support from Fortune 500 firms, Congress members, governors, and other leaders from all segments of society.

For those organizations that are signatories to the World Economic Forum's Zero Health Gaps Pledge, this initiative supports the Pledge action plan, as well as fits into any Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program.

The essence of "Health is for EveryBODY" is personal empowerment and ownership. It urges every individual, irrespective of their demographics or beliefs, to access healthcare solutions, championing the cause of health equity for everyone.

The Center for Disease Control recommendations (CDC) underscored some of the campaign's health priorities, including health awareness, education, fostering regular interactions with primary care providers, emphasizing routine screenings like those for colon, breast, lung, and prostate cancers, and advocating for a tobacco-free life, balanced diet, consistent physical activity, and moderate alcohol consumption.

The campaign launches during HIMSS Global Health Equity Week 2023 (October 23-27), which celebrates the power of information and technology to improve access to healthcare for all communities.
