Imagine That Performance Welcomes Senior Consultant Al Braithwaite, MPA, CGFO

With a distinguished 37-year career in public service in Pinellas County, Al brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to the firm.

Over the years, Al held various roles in municipalities, including Clearwater and Largo, before settling in the City of Oldsmar. With Oldsmar, he progressed from Finance Administrator to Director of Administrative Services, ultimately finishing as City Manager. His experience in managing critical administrative and financial functions provided valuable insights into the complexities of local governance.

In addition to his exemplary career in local government, Al Braithwaite is the author of the  book, "Roller Coasters, Revolving Doors, and Reflux: Reflections on 37 Years of Public Service." The book serves as a guide for those considering a career in public service and those already dedicated to the call, drawing from Al's personal experiences and highlighting the need to serve the public interest for the common good.

During his career, Al Braithwaite actively participated in numerous professional organizations, contributing to the growth and development of the public service sector. He was a long-time member and former President of the Suncoast Chapter (2012-2013) of the Florida Government Finance Officers Association. Additionally, he served as President of the Suncoast Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) from 2019 to 2021.
