The Needle Phobia Alliance Launches to Provide Support and Education for People with Needle Phobia

OAKLAND, Calif. - May 15, 2023 - PRLog -- Needle phobia, which studies estimate affects at least 1 in 4 adults, is a fear of medical procedures involving needles, such as blood draws and vaccinations – including COVID-19 vaccines. Many people with the condition avoid such procedures, and some avoid all medical care. The Needle Phobia Alliance, a new nonprofit organization, is conducting a survey to identify potential programs and services to help people who are affected.

The Needle Phobia Alliance currently offers online peer support groups, educational workshops, and resources and information via its website. Potential ideas for future programs include peer support services, funding for therapy, and annual conferences.

The survey is available now through Friday, May 26th and can be accessed by going to

"We really want to engage the population at large in planning what supports and resources
would be helpful," said Chris Wang-Kildegaard, founder and president of the organization. "This survey is meant to help us envision what our organization can do for people living with this condition, as well as health care providers who want to help them."
