NEW YORK - Jan. 30, 2023 - PRLog -- The Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) announced its 92nd Annual Meeting & Educational Symposium agenda. The IMUA 2023 Annual Meeting takes place at the Lowes Ventana Canyon Resort, Tucson, AZ, from April 30 - May 3, 2023.

This year's annual meeting theme, Seize The Opportunity, reflects the many opportunities afforded association members in assisting them both personally and professionally within the ever-changing business environment. The Annual Meeting will once again feature a diverse educational agenda kicking off with Edmund Kelly, President and CEO of AAIS, as this year's keynote speaker. Mr. Kelly will offer his perspective on the issues facing the property and casualty insurance industry and the inland marine sector.

In announcing its Annual Meeting, IMUA President and CEO Kevin O'Brien said, "We appreciate the support our members continue to show IMUA, especially in taking advantage of our all-access remote education and e-learning programs. This year's Meeting offers a diverse array of topics that are extremely relevant to today's inland marine environment. Our Education Committee has done an outstanding job selecting an agenda focusing on pressing issues we face as an industry and securing knowledgeable professionals to address each."

The topics for the IMUA 92nd Annual Meeting include:
  • Keynote Address by Edmund Kelly
  • Issues with the Economy and the Impact on Inland Marine Insurance
  • The Anatomy of Bridge Construction & Related Street & Road
  • U.S. Infrastructure: Counteraction & Transportation
  • Natural Catastrophes
  • Mass Timber/CLT

Mr. O'Brien pointed out that IMUA's "Parallel Track" programming geared toward newer, less experienced inland marine underwriting and claims personnel is also offered. "These sessions are among the most well-received programs because they focus on those new to, or less experienced in, commercial inland marine insurance. We are pleased to include it again as part of our overall professional development agenda," Mr. O'Brien said.

All those attending the 'Parallel Track' will also have access to our Mass Timber/CLT session and the keynote address.

The Parallel Track subjects to be covered are:
  • Introduction to Inland Marine
  • The Basics of Builders Risk
  • Understanding Contractors Equipment
  • Transportation Insurance

IMUA Chairperson Jessica Frankovich, CPCU, AMIM, ARM, ARe, Executive Vice President, Custom Property & Inland Marine, Seneca Insurance Company, commenting on this year's Annual Meeting agenda, noted, "As I prepare to turn over reins of Chairperson, I am extremely proud of what IMUA has accomplished during my tenure. But more importantly, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for the association. IMUA continues to amaze me with its unwavering dedication to assisting our members in furthering their professional development. The IMUA has advanced an exceptional educational agenda for its members. I credit the hard work of the IMUA staff and our excellent Education Committee in creating outstanding programs covering key issues facing our industry. I pledge to continue encouraging our members and friends in the producer community to take advantage of our exciting educational and networking opportunities."
