Follow on Google News | Suddenly! Tesla's massive recallBy: www.topcarstesla.com Just the day before, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) disclosed another recall: Tesla is recalling 29,348 Model X vehicles (production dates: Sept. 8, 2021 to Nov. 5, 2022). It states that an improperly calibrated vehicle restraint control module (RCM) may cause the front passenger airbag to erroneously eject in certain low-speed collisions, especially when children ages 3-6 are sitting in the front seats without seat belts, increasing their risk of injury. In response to this defect, Tesla will address the issue through an OTA, which will be emailed to owners on January 14, 2023, and a firmware update for Model X models currently in production and delivery to ensure that vehicles are not affected by the issue. It is understood that Tesla conducted compliance testing on the vehicles and during that testing found that the restraint system did not match what was previously set up. Since then, Tesla has also conducted several tests and evaluations to confirm that this was not an accident and therefore filed a recall with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). However, Tesla said that as of Nov. 8, it had not received any reports of accidents due to the issue. https://www.topcarstesla.com/ End
