Steps Involved in Getting your Canada PR

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - Sept. 5, 2022 - PRLog -- Step 1: Take an English or French test (IELTS, CELPIP, TCF, or TEF).

One of the most important conditions for obtaining a permanent resident visa in Canada is that you establish your language skills. All programs Need you to demonstrate your ability in English or French. To demonstrate language skills, any IRCC-accepted language exam certificate, such as IELTS, CELPIP/TCF, or TEF, can be utilized. Furthermore, to be able to apply, a minimum score criterion must be attained; the minimal score varies based on the program. In general, most programs require an IELTS score of at least 6.0, which is equivalent to CLB 7.

Step 2: Determine the CRS Score

The CRS score, which is determined using your age, education, work experience, and other factors, should be your next step after determining the language requirements because it will tell you where you stand and whether you need to adjust or change the program. The maximum CRS score achievable is 1200.

If your CRS score is less than 400, you should work on boosting your profile because this number can hurt your candidacy. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, including improving your language test results, increasing your educational attainment, or—best of all—being accepted into a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which can add 600 points to your profile and propel it to the top.
