As the Bronx continues to experience inclement weather resulting in dangerous conditions for residents and officials alike, Council Member Marjorie Velázquez has put these concerns at the forefront. When the sinkhole opened on July 18th, homes immediately experienced repercussions like flooding and sewage backup. Since then, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection has worked diligently to evaluate, plan, and promptly repair the area.
