BRONX, N.Y. - Aug. 18, 2022 - PRLog -- Bronx, NY)Council Member Marjorie Velázquez (D-13 Bronx)  will lead New York City elected officials and agencies on an infrastructure tour, amid the recent sinkhole opening on Radcliff Avenue in July. Since then, the area has been under observation as concerns rise about future sinkholes opening.

The Bronx has been at the center of various infrastructure conversations, including the recent sinkhole in Morris Park, which has grasped the attention of New York City officials and government partners. As the Bronx continues to experience inclement weather resulting in dangerous conditions for residents and officials alike, Council Member Marjorie Velázquez has put these concerns at the forefront. When the sinkhole opened on July 18th, homes immediately experienced repercussions like flooding and sewage backup. Since then, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection has worked diligently to evaluate, plan, and promptly repair the area. Friday's walkthrough comes amid changes to the district, such as plans to incorporate new Metro-North stations in the Morris Park area.
