Bakersfield Fire Department Chooses RadioMobile's IQ FSAS for Fire Station Alerting

SAN DIEGO - July 13, 2022 - PRLog -- RadioMobile, Inc., a provider of mobile data communications technology to Fire and EMS agencies, announced that the Bakersfield Fire Department has chosen to deploy RadioMobile's IQ Fire Station Alerting System (IQ FSAS) in its 14 fire stations throughout the City of Bakersfield, California.  IQ FSAS is a fully integrated, Windows-based, programmable system that provides simultaneous alerts to multiple stations instantaneously, shaving valuable seconds off critical response times while increasing accountability and accuracy.

The Bakersfield Fire Department (BFD) provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, heavy and technical rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, water rescue, and other life safety services around-the-clock to a growing community of over 360,000 citizens.  The BFD is an Insurance Services Office (ISO) rated Class 2 Fire Department, residing in the top 1.5% of fire departments nationwide. With 240 sworn, support, and reserve personnel operating from fourteen Fire Stations located throughout the city, the BFD is ready to meet challenges within the community, region, and state.

The BFD solution includes the IQ FSAS server, connected to the County's Emergency Communications Center, that provides an IP interface to the CAD and relays dispatch messages and status updates between the CAD and the fire station.  Each station is equipped with a Command Desk Terminal that receives these messages and executes a customized alert sequence based upon the type of alert and each station's unique requirements. This sequence is transmitted to the Station Control Unit that controls the peripherals including lights, speakers, turnout timers, bay doors and other equipment.  A rip-n-run printer immediately prints out the dispatch information including the first turns out of the station in under a second, guaranteeing that responders have the exact detail of the incident available to them as they are heading out the door.  This all happens within seconds of the actual dispatch ensuring that the right people are alerted and arrive at the scene as quickly as possible.
