Flowers, farming and fun all happening at Grandpa Tiny's Farm during weekend festival

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. - May 23, 2022 - PRLog -- What would summer be without sunflowers, good food and outdoor adventures? Grandpa Tiny's Farm (https://www.grandpatinys.com/), one of Frankenmuth's historic working farms, is bringing all that together as it hosts the annual Frankenmuth Flower Festival the weekend of Friday, Aug. 5 through Sunday, Aug. 7.

This popular flower and farm festival includes an array of family fun events including a u-pick experience, a popular sunflower field dinner, a 5K color run and an arts and crafts showcase.

The Sunflower U-Pick experience will be held Friday, Aug. 5 through Sunday, Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. During the event guests can access 25 acres of Grandpa Tiny's Farm where they can pick one sunflower to take home, and more can be picked for an additional fee. Guests need to bring their own scissors (no knives) and a bucket for the sunflower u-pick.

The U-Pick general admission cost is $16 person and those under age 5 get in free with supervising ticket-holding adult. There is a maximum of four children under 5 with one adult.

The popular Sunflower Dinner will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6 in the farm's charming old orchard. Surrounded by private sunflower fields, dinner guests will enjoy a specialty farm-to-table meal prepared by Silver Plate Award Winner Chef Phil Fahrenbruch and the team from the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.

The cost is $115 per person and includes same day admittance to the Frankenmuth Flower Festival. The festival is also a time to enjoy the Sunflower 5K Fun Color Run starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6 with a chance to run, walk or jog through the scenic countryside of Grandpa Tiny's Farm. The route will take participants through the farm's sunflower fields, over the Black Iron Bridge, and past the Hart one-room schoolhouse along the creek. At the end of the run, runners can join in the flower event, with an exclusive, colorful race t-shirt and finisher's medal to remember the day.

The cost is $40 per runner. Sign up by July 17 to secure a t-shirt and finisher's medal. Participants under age 7 are free when accompanied and supervised by a racing adult. Includes admission to the Frankenmuth Flower Festival after the race.
