Meet the author …

Charles Salzberg is a freelance writer who has lived in New York City his whole life. He is a former magazine journalist who's written for New York magazine, Esquire, The New York Times, The New York Times Book Review, Redbook and other periodicals. He is the author of over two dozen nonfiction books. His first novel, Swann's Last Song, was nominated for a Shamus Award. In addition to the Swann series, he is author of Devil in the Hole, named one of the best crime novels of 2013 by Suspense magazine, Second Story Man, winner of the Beverly Hills Book Award and nominated for a Shamus Award and the David Award, and he has novellas in the collections Triple Shot, Three Strikes and Third Degree. He teaches writing at the New York Writers Workshop, where he is a Founding Member, and is on the Board of MWA-NY.
