PRLog -- Attendees at the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care's (NCIHC) 15
th Annual Membership Meeting (AMM) will have twelve topics to choose from in the Language Access Café sessions, presented by healthcare interpreting professionals with a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. Topics to be discussed include preparation for the oral certification examination, the impact of offshoring healthcare interpreting, mental health support for interpreters, the purpose of the National Job Task Analysis Survey, and techniques for professional practice development. There will be an opportunity to discuss diversity, equity and inclusion within NCIHC, as well as the development of future initiatives and a review of the National Standards of Practice by NCIHC. Challenges faced by interpreters and the communities they serve will be discussed, addressing languages of lesser diffusion, health equity and advocacy, assistive devices to improve communication for Deaf, DeafBlind and hard of hearing patients, and the needs of Afghan refugees.
