$174 Million PPE Contract will be signed with the Asia offices of D&J Development

The Department of Human Services, Logistics Agency, in coordination with Health & Family Welfare department, will sign a $174 million contract award with the D&J Development On March 12, 2022 to provide personal protective equipment.
 
CHEYENNE, Wyo. - March 4, 2022 - PRLog -- The Department of Human Services, Logistics Agency, in coordination with Health & Family Welfare department, will sign a $174 million contract award with the D&J Development (Asia Regional Office) On March 12, 2022 to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) kits including protective eyewear, gloves, gowns, and masks for medical personnel at over 27,000 nursing home locations.

Deliveries to commence on May 1, 2022 in Ahmadabad, Jaipur and Agra and will be completed across India, by the end of January 2023 at the Government's designated priority locations. The total quantities required for the kit components are: Eyewear: 2.8 million goggles, Gloves: 84 million pairs, Gowns: 43 million, Masks: 18 million.

Distribution plans may be impacted based on the contracted rate of production and material distribution changes based on transportation availability.

The purchase was executed under the rules that allow the government to go directly to a preferred supplier without any competition. The process is called making a "direct award". It is allowed if there is only one possible supplier or in cases of "extreme urgency" due to unforeseeable events.
