PRLog -- UCB and DataHow worked together for the testing of SpectraHow, DataHow's cloud-based software for fast spectral calibration model development. UCB's dedicated PAT group, let by Jan-Sebastiaan Uyttersprot, is specialized in the application of spectral technology to small molecules and biologicals. The group tested SpectraHow with Raman spectroscopy for different cell culture reactors. The primary goal was to follow the glucose evolution more closely allowing for on demand feeding of glucose during the cell culture. Other compounds like lactate / titer were also measured and modeled.

- Structured database: Innovative and very useful. It allows to use automatically historical data, which results in faster and more robust new calibrations
- Ease of use: The workflow guides the user through the model calibration, even for non-experts
- Advanced mathematical modeling techniques: Beside PLS other regression methods are available, and are implemented in the same workflow
The methods developed with the software outperformed the optimized models created with the conventional modeling steps (wavelength selection, preprocessing)

We are definitely interested to continue working with DataHow to implement this in our current bioprocesses and to extend the use beyond Raman and bioprocessing. "
