PRLog -- 'Tis the season of giving, and the
MENTAL HEALTH MONDAY with Marla and Dave podcast is asking its audience to donate to the
"A Dollar Today Keeps the Stigma Away" campaign, supporting the mission of
NAMI-SFV as they endeavor to educate families, individuals, and educators; advocate for changes to national policies regarding people with mental illnesses; support those seeking referrals, information, and support; and raising public awareness to combat stigma and encourage understanding. Donations of one dollar (or more) can be made to
MENTAL HEALTH MONDAY with Marla and Dave via PayPal and Zelle via their Instagram bio.
"Support is needed right now, and we created this campaign with a sense of urgency," says Hannah Sussman, producer of
MENTAL HEALTH MONDAY with Marla and Dave. "If everyone who listens to Marla and Dave each week donated just a dollar that day – today – it would make a huge difference to
NAMI-SFV this holiday season – and into the future."
The holidays can be especially hard for those struggling with mental illness. According to previously published statistics from NAMI, 64% of people with mental illness report holiday stress makes their condition worse with 24% of those people feeling that holiday stress made them feel "a lot" worse. This can be hard not only on those suffering from mental illness, but also their friends and family who are trying to support them.
MENTAL HEALTH MONDAY with Marla and Dave, hosted by mental health advocate and celebrity realtor Marla Thomas and her husband Dave Thomas, a member of the ten-time Grammy Award-winning music group Take6, is produced in collaboration with
NAMI-SFV to be a platform to share stories of people who are coping and overcoming mental illness and brain differences, fighting mental health stigma, and raising awareness.
MENTAL HEALTH MONDAY with Marla and Dave airs each Monday at 6:00 PM Pacific/9:00 PM Eastern on the United Broadcasting Network, as well as their YouTube channel (
